How are products package?

Our products are shipped refrigerated or frozen. They are packed in an insulated cooler with ice packs or dry ice so they arrive at your door fresh.

 

When are orders shipped and delivered?

We ship out to our customers on Tuesday and Wednesday. All orders placed after 12:00pm EST on Wednesday will be held until the following Tuesday, this is to ensure that your products have adequate time to arrive from our kitchen to yours without waiting in the shipping warehouse where the products may defrost and expire. Perishable items cannot be shipped over the weekend and cannot be delivered on Sunday, Monday or on the following major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Orders cannot be shipped to a PO Box or to a military post office.

Please note that weather delays, particularly in winter, may impact these delivery windows and Egunsifoods is not responsible for delays due to weather conditions or other natural causes beyond our control.

We deliver from Harlem, New York to anywhere in the United States.

 

What shipping method are used and shipping rates?

Our products ship via UPS, with shipping rates starting at $10.60 per package (Includes 4-jars of Soups or Sauces or 4 packs of Moi Moi) anywhere in New York City and rates vary by State.

What's your return policy?

Please be advised that Egunsifoods cannot be responsible for refunds or replacements of orders with incomplete or invalid addresses, or sent to recipients who are not available to accept packages on the delivery date.

Please note that due to the perishable nature of our products, we do not accept order cancellations or returns. All sales are final and we strongly recommend that customers review all the details of their order prior to placing it.

 

What should I do if I have a problem with my order?

Our goal is to share with you the wonderful and diverse flavor that West Africa as to offer. If you are having trouble placing an order or have issues with your order, please feel free to send us an email via our contact page and someone on our team will be in touch with you within 24 hours. 

 

Does someone have to be present to accept delivery of a shipment?

No. Because all of our items are perishable, orders are shipped “signature release”. This means UPS will leave the package at the doorstep, front desk or gate associated with the shipping address without requiring a signature at the time of delivery. However, if you plan to be away for the day of delivery, it is the customer’s responsibility to arrange for someone to pick up the package and freeze or refrigerate the items as required.

Why will my pre-ordered delivery arrive between August 7th - 20th, 2017?

As we are gearing up to launch this July, we've been showcasing our products at different summer festivals and have received many requests from customers as to where they could purchase our delicious meals, due to the overwhelming request we launch the pre-sale page so you can place your order(s) and be one of many few to receive your delicious Soups, Sauce or Side Dish! You will be notified the first week of August with exact date you will be receiving your delivery. Can't wait to have you start enjoying your Egunsifoods meals! 

 

What is the shelf life of your products?

Our products are produce in small batch and chilled quickly to preserve the flavors, taste and nutrients. Our Soups and Sauces last for 2 weeks in the refrigerator or freezer for 6 months, once open we recommend to consume as soon as possible to keep its freshness and optimal quality. Our frozen Moi Moi last for 6 months, when ready to use place in a double boiler steamer pot or place crumpled up foil in a pot with water and place Moi Moi packs in the pot to steam for 45 minute. Take Moi Moi out of the pot with a tong and let cool for 10 minute. 

 

How do you pronounce the company name? 

Phonetically it's pronounce A-Goo-See (the Goo is the same sound as when you pronounce the beginning of google), not E-Gun-See, named after a well known West African seed use for making the famous Egusi Stew.
